Game 3 - CN LL South vs Mesa Eastern

The South Boys continued their journey Thursday night with a win against another next door rival Mesa Eastern. The 6-1 win moves Chandler to 3-0 in Pool Play. Chandler's big third inning put 4 runs on the board to increase their lead to 5-0 at the time. The South tacked on another in the fourth and didn't give up a run till the 6th inning. J Dub got the start and pitched 4 shutout innings and was followed by solid relief in the 5th by S.I. and Spaz and Crash in the 6th.

Chandler was the home team again with another coin toss win. Top of the first started with getting the important lead off batter out on the comebacker to J Dub. A hit batter and single to center had Mesa threatening with two on and 1 out, but defense prevailed with a infield fly rule pop up to catcher Brando and strikeout to end the inning. In the bottom of the 1st, Chandler struggled only mustering one fly ball and 2 strikeouts.

Top 2 started off good with a strikeout, walk, strikeout, but after another hit batter, Chandler was facing bases loaded with 2 outs. J Dub cameback to get the next batter to pop up to Turbo in left to end the threat. Chandler got the scoring started in the second with a blast from Spaz to make it 1-0.

Mesa started the third with a towering shot to right, but was run down and caught for the out by Spaz. The next batter single, but a strikeout and a groundball to Jets ending the inning. Jets then led off Chandler's 3rd inning with a solid single to right. Crash followed with a fielder's choice. Crash then moved to second on a pass ball and scored on Turbo's single. Turbo went to second on the throw home. Huck's turn...Huck took the second pitch he saw deep over the center field fence for a 2 run homerun. Rusty batting for Thunder continue the inning reaching second on the right field error. Spaz doubled, then Po hitting for Bugs, hit a RBI single. J Dub help himself with a sac bunt moving the runners into scoring position, but they were stranded. Chandler scored 4 in the inning to lead 5-0.

Chandler looked in control in the Top of the fourth with Mesa's 7-8-9 hitters due up and lead off ground ball to Rusty at third produced the first out. However, Mesa put together a single, walk, and another hit batter to load the bases with only one out. Now with the 2 and 3 hitters up for Mesa, Chandler hunkered down and played solid D. A line drive out to Spaz in Right and then Crash took a shot up the middle and stepped on second to get out of the second bases loaded jam. Special K lead off the fourth, but grounded out. Crash followed with a double to left. With two outs, Huck hit an RBI Single to score Crash making it a 6-0 game.

Chandler went to the bullpen in the 5th and put S.I. on the mound. S.I. dominated the 4-5-6 batters from Mesa going KS-KC-KS, throwing only 15 pitches. South also struggled in the 5th, but put the ball in play. Bugs flew out to right, J Dub line out to first. Mesa's first baseman had to make a great catch.

T-WAT, or Spaz came in to pitch the 6th and close it out. Spaz got things started with back to back Ks, but with a walk and a single. Chandler, keeping a close eye on pitch count, brought in Crash to finish things off. Crash faced one batter to recorded the final out on the comeback to the mound.

Chandler put together another solid game to get the win tonight with great efforts up and down the lineup and all over the field. Next up is Continental from Flagstaff on Friday night.
