Game 7 - CN LL vs Scottsdale Cactus

It is the author's intention that this blog serve only as a temporary informational substitute to an actual eyewitness account of the actions on the evening of July 28th.

Elimination rounds have started. The quarterfinal matchup for the no. 2 seeded Chandler National had them paired up against Pool B's no. 3 seed- Division 6 Cactus. The evening reception at the Embassy Suites in Lynnwood, Wa made for a cool venue to follow the game. I relied on my talented staff of field reporters to provide me with the latest updates on the action. Gary, Darren, and Stephanie kept the information flowing. Chandler started the game in now familiar territory as the Visitor.

The top of the first started of with a bang, putting the lead off batters aboard, and before the Cactus team knew it they were trailing 3-0 before they batted. Crash, Turbo, and Thunder all scored in the first. S.I. took the mound in the bottom of the inning recorded a shutout inning.

Chandler's S.I. helped himself out in the game with a lead off double to start the 2nd. I have know idea what the top of the lineup up did, but I am sure it was good because Chandler scored 3 more runs in the inning to extend their lead to 6-0. S.I. in the second...same as the first.

Top of 3, time to bust this one open. Po leads off with a single followed by Special K and S.I. walks. Rusty hits into a fielders choice, getting Doc (SPR for Po) out at home. Chandler's top of the lineup pushed one across the plate, but with the bases still loaded Huck hit a grand slam to put Chandler up 11-0. Bottom of 3 ditto.

The airwaves went quiet in the fourth and so did the scoring, but Chandler's 11-0 lead was held up by the defense to claim the "Run Rule" win in only 4 innings. Chandler's 11-0 shutout win puts them into the semifinals against undefeated Canyon del Oro.
