Game 2 - CNLL South vs Gilbert National LL

Chandler South was the home team and “Huck” took the mound for the start of the game. After allowing two runners, “Jets” solid defense up the middle got Chandler out of the inning stranding two for Gilbert. At the bottom of the inning “Turbo” reached on an error, “Huck” singled and “Po” walked, however, with two outs, all three were stranded on base. Score 0-0, end of 1.

Gilbert started the 2nd inning with a walk. “Crash”, “Spaz” and “Thunder” combined for a great defensive out at 3rd base for the 2nd out. “Huck” finished the inning with a strike out. At the bottom of 2nd, “J Dub” had a lead off walk. After back to back strike outs, South recovers when “Crash” reaches on an error and then fake steals 2nd base allowing “J Dub” to score from 3rd. South up 1-0 at end of 2.

In the 3rd inning, Gilbert lead off with a walk. After a fly ball out to “Turbo”, “Jets” and “Spaz” continued brilliant play in the infield. “Turbo” leads off the inning with a solo HR. “Huck” reaches base when the first baseman pulls his foot. After a couple of passed balls and a “Thunder” walk, “S.I.” strikes out at the plate and “Huck” scores on a steal to 2nd by “J Dub” pinch running for “Thunder”. “Brando” continues the offense with a RBI single to right scoring “J Dub” the inning ends with fly ball to right field. South up 4-0 at the end of 3.

Top of 4th, Gilbert grounded to “Crash” at short for the 1st out. “Huck” continues on the mound. The inning ends with a strike out, hit batter and a strike out. Bottom of 4 brings a new pitcher for Gilbert. “Special K” takes his first pitch deep for a solo HR. “Crash” singles to short, “Turbo” hits the fence in left and “Huck” dribbles a single to load the bases. “Thunder” hits a sac fly to scoring 2. “Po” draws a walk and Gilbert brings in their 3rd pitcher. “Spaz” comes to plate after back to back strike outs facing an 0-2 count, and tattoos one for a walk-off 3 run HR to seal a 10-0 run rule win for South.

After two games, Chandler South 2-0 in pool play.
